Christmas Charities 2011
For all of you looking to help out others this holiday season I have gathered a few programs. All of these programs provide for less fortunate children.
Toys for Tots is a program founded in 1947 by Major William L. Hendricks and ran by the United States Marine Corps. Reserves. Check out: www.toysfortots.org to find out where and when to make your donations of a brand new toy.
Coats for Kids founded in 2004 in Alexandria, VA. Is a longtime partner with Operation Warm. This program allows you to the coats that are to small for your children to other children. Check it out at :
www.coats-for-kids.org to find out where you can make your donations.
Angel Tree program via the Salvation Army is now in full swing also. The Salvation Army has sponsored with J.C.Penney and Wal-Mart to help children in need. The Salvation Army wants to make sure that no child does without this Christmas season. Go to www.jcp.com/angel to make a donation through J.C. Penney or head over to your nearest Wal-Mart in your area to select an angel from the tree.
These are just to name a few. You should check with your local churches and nearest Salvation Army to see how you can help other families in need.
