Today marks the 82nd birthday of Hostess Twinkies. When they were first introduced April 6, 1930 they were banana cream filled until World War II when bananas were rationed and then the company switched to vanilla cream. Despite filing Chapter 11, and rumors that the Twinkie would no longer be available, Hostess has introduced strawberry creme filled (YUMMY! These are my favorite) and chocolate creme.
