Part 2 - Offerings

There are 5 types of offerings that are made in th Old Testament:

REQUIRED

Burnt Offerings

Sin Offerings

Trespass Offerings

VOLUNTARY

Meat Offerings
Peace Offerings

We are going to focus only on one of these offerings and that is the Burnt Offerings.
Leviticus 1:3-4

³ ‘If his offering is a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish; he shall offer it of his own free will at the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the Lord. 
 ⁴ Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.

A Burnt Offering was an act of atonement or cover for sin as a believer approached God. This example was set by God for a necessity of a covering by shedding of the blood and provision of a covering.

Notice, again the blodd only covers the sin, it does not remove it.
