Virgo

Virgo has three decans or other pieces.

The first is called Coma.  It depicts a woman sitting in a chair holding a child in her arms. This coma means "Desired One" or "Longed for One" which also talks about the desire of all the nations coming Jesus Christ.

When a student in Babylon, Daniel learned that a star would appear in the constellation Coma, when the one whose birth, who was foretold was born.

So yet again it paints us the picture of the virgin, who is going to bring forth a seed, who is to be called Branch and he is the desire of all the nations.

Centaurus, the Centaur (part man part horse) is the second decan. This reminds us of the one who was to come, has come, and he is unusual. He is man having two natures.

In Greek mythology the most famous Centaur was Cheiron. He was renowned for hunting, medicine, music, teaching, and for prophesy.  He was thought to be immortal, but voluntarily agreed to die and transfer his powers to Prometheus.  So you see another picture of Christ.

In Centaurus he is pictured going forth as a hunter with a spear and is slaying a beast called the victim.Just as we saw Christ offer himself for the sins of man.

It's So Easy And Other Lies

Book Description:

A founding member of Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver shares the story of his rise to the pinnacle of fame and fortune, his struggles with alcoholism and drug addiction, his personal crash and burn, and his phoenix-like transformation via a unique path to sobriety.

In 1984, at the age of twenty, Duff McKagan left his native Seattle—partly to pursue music but mainly to get away from a host of heroin overdoses then decimating his closest group of friends in the local punk scene. In L.A. only a few weeks and still living in his car, he answered a want ad for a bass player placed by someone who identified himself only as “Slash.” Soon after, the most dangerous band in the world was born. Guns N’ Roses went on to sell more than 100 million albums worldwide.

In It's So Easy, Duff recounts GN’R’s unlikely trajectory to a string of multiplatinum albums, sold-out stadium concerts, and global acclaim. But that kind of glory can take its toll, and it did—ultimately—on Duff, as well as on the band itself. As GN’R began to splinter, Duff felt that he himself was done, too. But his near death as a direct result of alcoholism proved to be his watershed, the turning point that led to his unique path to sobriety and the unexpected choices he has made for himself since. In a voice that is as honest as it is indelibly his own, Duff—one of rock’s smartest and most articulate personalities—takes readers on his harrowing journey through the dark heart of one of the most notorious bands in rock-and-roll history and out the other- Amazon

My Review

I was over excited to be able to read this book.. I have always been and always will be big fan of Gn'R, and of course, Duff was always my personal favorite. This is the story of every typical rock stars rise and fall but this story also tells you how one of the best bands in the late 80's early 90's imploded.

Michael "Duff" McKagan, the former bassists of Guns N' Roses, tells his personal story of how he reached his fame and fortune and then almost lost his life from years of drug and alcohol abuse. It also tells us how Slash (Guitarist), Steven Adler ( Drummer) and himself created GN'R only to have it stolen from them by Axl Rose. It explains how they were not only a band but friends until Axl Roses greed and ego and the other band members drug abuse tore them apart.
He also shares with you how he got himself clean, sober, and healthy, met his third wife and started a family, and picked himself up musically and created, with GN'R guitartist Slash, a new band called Velvet Revolver that has gained it's own brand of success.

I must say that the book itself was a hard read because at times his thoughts often seem incomplete and jumbled, but once you get past that it is a good read and you gain some insight to why GN'R faded away.

Tagger Thursday

Here is this weeks tagger:

Melinda Morse

Titled:

"Revolution Tagger"

I've been tagging since about a year or two before there were tube companies, when tag groups were all on MSN. I'm not sure exactly how long ago that was.
I have my own blog that I do tutorials on, Sinfully Sweet Creations on blogspot.
Right now, I'm taking a bit of a break, because I got a bit burned out doing tuts and scrap kits, and just wanted to take a bit of time to get back to tagging just for the fun of it, when I felt like tagging. Some of my favorite artists are Alicia Mujica, Barbara Jensen, Ismael Rac, Keith Garvey, and Arthur Crowe, although I have many more that I just love.

Besides tagging, I spend my spare time reading (love horror stories) and I also play the bass guitar. I have two boys who are grown and out on their own, ages 18 and 23.

Virgo

First She is called Bethulah ( Hebrew) which means "virgin" . Virgo means "virgin" in Latin, Greek and Arabic. So as you see in every language it means the same. Yet it is not merely just a woman, but this is a virgin. The next thing to remember is "the seed of the woman would destroy the seed of the serpent" and Isaiah 7:14: There fore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
This now is telling us of Mary, the virgin who brings forth Christ.

Second thing about Virgo we note is the emphasis upon her fertility. In one hand she holds a branch. At numerous times in the bible, Jesus is referenced as the Branch, Zechariah 3:8 "behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH" Zechariah 6:12 "Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and Isaiah 4:2 "In that day the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious". In the other hand she holds sheaves of corn, which refers to the seed of woman.
So Virgo's testimony is that the Virgin is going to bring forth the BRANCH which will be the Seed of Woman. This is painting us the picture of the coming of Christ.

Homemade Sugar Scrub

I have been hearing so much about homemade scrubs, etc that I finally decided to try one. I decided on the most simple one you could make. I hate the scent of lotions, etc so I chose one that had no scent. Here are the ingredients:
White Sugar
Brown Sugar
Olive Oil
Yep, just those three ingredients. I decided to start small since I wasn’t sure I would like this whole DIY thing. I did 2tbs of brown sugar, 1tbs of white sugar, and enough oil to just bond the mixture. Armed with my homemade sugar scrub and a wash cloth I headed for the bathroom. I wetted my face a little and then started to use the scrub. Problem #1; It smelled so good I had to try hard to not lick my face. There is nothing more unattractive than a women trying to lick the side of her face.
After beating down the demons that kept screaming “lick it, lick it.” I started to slowly rub the mixture all over my face. After everything was completely covered I let it sit for 5 minutes, constantly saying ” I will not lick, I will not lick” After the timer went off I entered the bathroom again and using warm water I gently cleansed the mixture away and WOW! My skin was so smooth and even looked a little brighter. That is when I encountered problem #2. My face felt sooo good that my neck felt so rough. Going in the kitchen I made the mixture again and did my neck which was considerable easier since there is no way I could lick my neck. After 5 minutes I rinsed again and was like WOW again, it was so smooth that the rest of my body felt like a gravel road. You guessed it I made a huge batch and hit the shower. I will never, ever buy another scrub again. This has made a believer out of me. Using this twice a month will save me money.
I can’t wait to try more DIY products. I will definitely be posting my results for you :D
Edit* My friend Omneya recommended trying it on your feet. I did and they are silky smooth and touchable. Now I have to find someone to rub them so they can feel how touchable they are! Squee!

Topic Tuesday

First and foremost I want to give a big Shout Out! to all the bloggers that find the time to work, take care of your families, and make sure your blog is updated everday.

I work a full time job and then by time get home after fixing dinner and getting the kids ready for the next day, I am exhausted. So honestly posting is the furthest thing from my mind. So as most of you know this blog sometimes only gets updatd every other day or every two days. I try so hard to stay on top of it that I even make a list of all the things that need to be posted each day. Yet, that list often remains the same for 2 or 3 days. I can't seem to get up early enough to do it in the morning, I can NOT do it at work, and I can't seem to do it every night when I get home. That is usually why you see so many posts pop up in one day or on Sundays, which is offically my only day off.
So I applaud all of you that are able to manage everything.
It poses this weeks question for Topic Tuesday:

What are some of the challenges that you face on a daily basis?

Now we know that each person faces some challenges whether it be health, family, or scheduling. No matter the case we hope that you will share yours with us.
All we ask is that you write your post and then add it to the linky below. The person with the most views will get to co-host next weeks Topic Tuesday.

Virgo

So now you ask why I started with Virgo, when in modern astrology they start with Aries. So let me explain this. The key to unlocking th emystery to the Zodiac lies in the sphinx. In the Temple of Esneh in Egypt there is a sky painting in the portico on the ceiling which shows the whole picture of the Zodiac with all it's constellations.
Between Virgo (The Virgin) and Leo (The Lion) there is carved the figure of the sphinx with the head of a woman and the body of the lion.  The woman's face is looking at the Virgin and the lion's tail is pointing at Leo. So this tells us that we should begin with the Virgin(Virgo) and end with the lion (Leo).
This same sphinx is found in the same place in a great number of other paintings of the Mazzaroth (Hebrew meaning "The Constellation of the Zodiac") in other parts of the Near East, going back as much as 4,000 years telling us the orginial place of beginning.
So with this we will start with the Virgo as the first house.

Homemade Lip Gloss

Check out this guest post from Dishin With Reblle on how to make your own homemade lip gloss.

So the girls and I decided to try the lip gloss. It didn’t go as well as we hoped but we are not giving up. We did a very simple formula of Vaseline and Lemonade Mix. It turned out quite yummy. We did have to warm it in the microwave a little so the lemonade mix would dissolve a little. It was really fun and we are going to try some others. We did a chocolate ones also but I didn’t get a pic of those.
The lipgloss:

The girls didn’t want plain jars. They thought they would look silly. So after talking to an artist friend of mine we made little labels and the girls called the lip gloss Rebelle, rofl.

We had a lot of fun and we are on the look out for more fun DIY stuff. Also, I am going to start a board on pinterest just for this stuff.

Astrology

I have been reading a book called "The Real Meaning Of The Zodiac" by Dr. James Kennedy and thought it might be interesting to share what he writes with you. So over the course of the next couple of weeks I am going to writing excepts from his book, some in my own words and some in his.

Biblical Astrology

God created the stars and called them the host of heaven. He then number them, ordered them, and set them in firmament to be signs. These signs represent the Zodiac.

Each of these signs describe the salvation that would be wrought by Christ, which was given by God to Adam in the Garden of Eden. These are the first Gospel of the coming of Jesus Christ.

Virgo

The Seed of the Woman.
Speaks of Christ as the Son of the God and will be 100% divine and 100% human.
Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity between tee, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise thy heel.

Every where except one place in the Bible the seed is always referred to as Man's seed. For example it is always mentioned as a man that begat his children. The one and only time Woman's seed is referenced in the bible is the birth of Christ.

Scrapbooking For Kids

Here is another guest post on activities for children from our friend Sharon over at Hobbies on a Budget.

       by
Many adults look at Scrapbooking as a time to be very creative and precise. They appoach the hobby as a time to show off their amazing design skills and look at each page as a masterpiece.
But when you scrapbook with kids, you have to adjust your expectations and allow the child to explore and use their own ideas – even if isn’t the way you would design the page.
Last weekend, I pulled out my supplies (most of which I received from Scrapbuck) and gave each of my children a stack of pictures and free reign over all the stuff. They picked their paper, stickers, embellishments, glue – anything they wanted to use out of the box.
The results were priceless: a huge mess (which they helped clean up), 2 pages that are less than perfect by some standards… but absolute masterpieces in their eyes and a whole bunch of ‘memories’.
Do you scrapbook with your kids? I’d love to hear how you make memories with the kids in your life!
***If you plan to purchase scrapbooking supplies, a great place to look is Scrapbuck. They offer free shipping as soon as you hit $20 and have some great prices!
